Patricia started her career in the Beauty Industry over 25 years ago. After receiving her Batchelor of Science Degree in Beauty Therapy Management from Bradford College, she decided to pursue a career in teaching and graduated with a Post Graduate Certificate in Post Compulsory Education from the University of Huddersfield, one of the top universities in the United Kingdom.
Patricia was heavily involved in curriculum development and has written national qualification standards for Beauty Therapy in her former role in Bradford College for Edexcel. She also wrote a Foundation Degree in Beauty Therapy for Jinju Health College in Korea.
Her international experience spans working in many teaching establishments throughout Ireland, UK and Australia. In 2014 Patricia joined Charles Darwin University (CDU) as Beauty Therapy Coordinator and later as Executive Officer, Workforce Development where she also earned her Master’s Degree in Education (Global Learning).
Patricia established the Vocational Educational and Training Community of Practice (VETCoP) across the Northern Territory (NT), working closely with the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade (DITT), Industry Skills and Advisory Council NT (ISACNT), Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET), VET Practitioners and Professionals. The VETCoP was established as a strategy for supporting the facilitation of professionalising and upskilling of the VET workforce. The VETCoP continues to excel and is currently expanding internationally partnering with Timor-Leste. Additionally, she led the scoping of the Training and Education (TAE) suite of qualifications before assuming responsibility for its delivery at CDU.
In 2019, she was awarded NT Teacher/Trainer of the Year, and was a finalist at the Australian Training Awards, where she was acknowledged for her 'exceptional commitment to training delivery and the VET sector more broadly'.
Patricia was employed as Managing Director RTO, VET, careers and flexible learning at MacKillop Catholic College before setting up her own educational consultancy business.
Patricia remains deeply committed to the beauty industry, actively participating as a volunteer with the Look Good Feel Better - Facing Cancer with Confidence program. This program is dedicated to transforming the journey of individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Patricia's dedication to this cause was recognised, and she was honored with the Volunteer of the Year award for the Northern Territory in 2023.
